Communications Assistant
Description
CityServe Network is looking for an enthusiastic, mission-driven, self-starter individual to support our marketing and public relations efforts, contributing to the impactful work of transforming communities.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and attend communications meeting including preparing agenda and taking minutes
- Assist in drafting content such as social posts, newsletters, and press releases
- Monitor and manage social media accounts (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) by scheduling posts, responding to comments, and engaging with followers.
- Assist in media relations, manage media contact lists, press conferences & press kits
- Support promotional efforts for events and fundraisers
- Assist in other marketing strategies and tactics
- Help manage brand guidelines and ensure consistency across all platforms and materials
- Work closely with other departments and grant programs for communications and marketing support
- Assist in gathering testimonials across affiliates, PODs and partner programs
Qualifications:
- Understanding of social media platforms
- Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations)
- Previous internship or related experience
- Must be computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel) Proficiency in design programs is a plus, but not required
- An effective communicator, both written and oral
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts
- Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Enthusiasm for the ministry of CityServe
Location:
CityServe Headquarters, 3201 F Street, Bakersfield, CA
Travel:
Occasional travel may be required for events and outreach initiatives.
Start Date:
Available for an immediate start.
Hours:
40 hours/week
Compensation:
$20-$23/hour
