How To Serve

WITH COMPASSION EVANGELISM

Your step by step Guide

The volunteer family will make a request form, then they will be contacted to confirm if the items requested were available and approved. Volunteers will be given an available pickup date in which they can pick up the items which were requested

We ask each volunteer family to do a first contact visit. During this visit, the volunteer will deliver a gift basket, making observations of any needs, and praying for the family. This visit will allow us to know if there is a real need.

Pick up times will depend on volunteer’s availability. We understand that everyone has a busy schedule and we do not want them to be rushed as they love on the family. During this time, we ask the volunteers to share their own story and the Gospel.

After the visit the volunteer will submit a report through the CityServe app requesting any items the family may need. We also ask for a brief explanation of their visit. This report will take 3-4 minutes depending on the description of the stories given. This report is crucial for us to maintain integrity with our donors and partnerships.

Our goal is not just for us to deliver goods and resources, but for us to build a bridge into our community. Therefore, we ask volunteers to continue to follow-up with the family through home visits, phone calls, letters, and/or social media. Our goal is to disciple people and not just be a spiritual UPS.

Our desire is for the family to receive Christ and eventually join a local church body. We encourage each volunteer to adopt the family and encourage them to be part of a local church body. If it is Sunday morning, small group, outreach, recovery ministry, or any other type of ministry, we believe that life is better when we do it together.
