HOW TO PRAY FOR PEOPLE

1. Ask them if you can pray for their needs.

And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
John 13:14.

2. Ask if you can lay your hand on their shoulder, hold their hand, pray in a circle, or pray over them.

3. Pray for them

a. Thank God for the individual
b. Pray for the specific need they have.
c. Declare Scripture over them.
d. Pray that God will reveal Himself to them.
e. Affirm the prayer by thanking God for the miracle that is about to take place.

God, I thank you for Jim. Thank you for giving him a family, friends, and hope. I pray for his sickness. Your word says that by your stripes we are healed, and I speak healing over him. I ask that you show him how much you love him and how much you want to do in his life. I thank you for his life and the healing that is about to take place. In Jesus name Amen.

SCRIPTURE:

1. Wisdom and power:
Ephesians 1:18-20 says, “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength.”

2. Strength and knowledge of God’s love:
Ephesians 3:16-19 says, “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wise and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

3. Spiritual understanding and knowing God’s will:
Colossians 1:9 says, “For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.

4. Boldness in sharing the faith:
Philemon 1:9 says, “I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ.”

5. Healing:
Isaiah 53:5 says, “But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds we are healed.”

6. Strength:
Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

7. Hope:
Romans 15:13 says, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
